DARRELL COLWELL
Safety Officer
Darrell brings more than 30 years of hands-on experience in construction, including brick laying, framing houses, and foundation repair. He joined the Bricklayers Union at just 21 years old, building a strong foundation of skill, discipline, and work ethic that continues to shape his approach today. In addition to his construction background, Darrell completed the Kitchen Training Program at The Hubcap Café, expanding his skillset and passion for service.
He later returned to Dallas 24 Hour Club as a Safety Officer, where he witnesses transformation firsthand, supports Residents through change, and helps with community events — including the free meals hosted at The 24. Darrell values the opportunity to reflect, relate, and connect with those walking through recovery.
Since June 2024, recovery has been a central focus in Darrell’s life, shaping both his personal growth and his work at The 24. Outside of work, he enjoys walking and listening to music — whatever fits his mood, though lately country has been in rotation. His lived experience, steady presence, and heart for service make him a valued member of The 24 community.
