Every October 10, the world comes together to recognize World Mental Health Day — a time to raise awareness, challenge stigma, and promote mental well-being for all. At Dallas 24 Hour Club, we know that recovery isn’t just about overcoming addiction; it’s also about healing the mind and rebuilding the spirit.
For many who walk through our doors, mental health challenges and addiction are deeply intertwined. Feelings of shame, anxiety, depression, and trauma often fuel the cycle of substance use. Our mission goes beyond providing a safe place to stay; we focus on supporting the whole person. Through peer support, structured programming, community meetings, and a caring environment, Residents begin to restore balance and learn healthy ways to cope.

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting mental health in recovery, our new Trevor’s Place expansion will include a meditation garden and plans for yoga classes to help Residents manage stress, find inner peace, and strengthen their connection to themselves. These spaces will provide meaningful opportunities for reflection, mindfulness, and healing — essential components of long-term recovery.
Recovery teaches that mental health is not a destination but a daily practice. Whether it’s sharing openly in meetings, connecting with a sponsor, meditation or finding purpose through service, our Residents discover that caring for their mental well-being is the key to long-term sobriety and peace of mind.

On this World Mental Health Day, we’re reminded that everyone deserves compassion, understanding, and the opportunity to heal. Together, we can continue breaking down the barriers that prevent people from seeking help — because when one person recovers, our entire community grows stronger.
If you or someone you love is struggling, remember: help is available, hope is real, and recovery is possible.
