Rachel Petty joined the Dallas 24 Hour Club staff in January 2026 after serving as Women’s Liaison beginning in September 2025. Her strong work ethic, leadership, and compassionate approach with Residents made her a natural fit for her current role. Rachel coordinates our Stuart Bright Life Skills Program: A Brighter Life! speakers, leads Resident orientations, and helps Residents access essential items through the Catalyst Fund, including eyeglasses, work shoes, driver’s licenses, and Social Security cards. She plays a pivotal role in connecting Residents with the resources and support they need to build a strong foundation for success.

Where's your favorite place in the world?

In my room after a long day when I get to relax and reflect on the day with God. I live in sober living and get to be surrounded by sober women who all care about each other so much. When I get home in the evening, I get to spend time with my roommates knowing that I am in a safe, sober environment.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever heard?

"Most of the things you worry about, never end up happening."

My dad told me that when I was younger and struggling with anxiety.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Greece, Santorini looks so beautiful!

What was your first job, and what did it teach you?

One of my first jobs was Sonic. It was one where the carhops had to roller-skate, I learned to not lie in an interview if they ask if you can skate. It was a long summer.

What are you passionate about?

Mental health in teens and kids. When I was young I had pretty severe OCD which also caused anxiety and depression. I hear people sometimes say things like, "That kid is too young to feel that anxious or depressed." I am very fortunate that my parents did not subscribe to that way of thinking and got me the help that I needed. I hate to see kids (or anyone) fall through the cracks because people don't understand what they are going through.

If you could instantly improve one skill, what would it be?

Public speaking, I have grown more confident in this skill but I can still get really nervous talking in front of large groups.

Who is someone you really admire?

My friend Burgandi. She and I met 15 years ago and have been close ever since. She is such a strong and amazing person and a wonderful mom to her kids. I have seen her work through a lot in her life and it hasn't made her cynical or jaded. She is a constant reminder that things happen exactly as God intends for them to and to never lose faith in that.

Looking back at your youth, what was your silliest fear?

When I was really little I remember being afraid of sharks, even though I grew up in North Texas and never encountered one. I had a fear that they would somehow get into pools. It was pretty silly.

How did you hear about The 24?

I heard about The 24 back in 2014, when I got sober the first time. I knew a few people who lived here and really liked it.  Honestly, I never thought I would end up living at the 24 but it was exactly what I needed and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to live here.

What made you decide to work at Dallas 24 Hour Club?

Ever since the first time I heard about The 24 I thought it was a really cool idea. A place that is dedicated, above all, to recovery where women and men can start to rebuild their lives. When I became a Resident and experienced it first hand, I fell in love with The 24. Having the opportunity to see people experience the miracles that I received in my life, is such an honor. I believe that working at the 24 Hour Club is God's Will for me.

What does recovery mean to you today?

Recovery is so much more than just not drinking; it is a way of life. Recovery is being able to show up for myself and my loved ones again, it is having purpose in life, regaining trust with friends and family, building a community, recognizing and working on character defects; above all recovery is service work. Having the opportunity to give to someone else what was so freely given to me is what keeps me sober.
