My Giving Story began 2 and a half years ago. Although, at the time I didn’t know that. I walked in to the 24 with nothing but the clothes on my back. I had been stripped of any dignity or self-respect. My addiction had taken everything from me, including my daughter. The 24 gave me a place to get my life back and make me a Mom again.
When Marsha called me last December to ask if I would be interested in working for the 24, I knew that is where I belonged. It was like going home. I can honestly say that I work for an amazing organization and good work is being done here on a daily basis. We keep the best interest of our residents in mind with everything we do and we are here to serve the suffering addict and alcoholic. Many of them, everyone else has given up on. We see miracles and transformation take place every day before our eyes.
I started giving to the 24 in gratitude because of my own personal experience living there and what it did for me as a resident. I continue to give because of what the 24 does for others. It’s just a bonus that I get to be up front in center for the action!
